What is Science Events?

Science Events (sci.events) is a web application which helps you organise and promote scientific conferences, workshops and other events.

Do I have to register to access information on Science Events?

Some information at Science Events can be accessed without an account. Other event-specific information may not only require an account with Science Events, but you'll have to register with the event as well.

How do I get my own personal profile?

You can register by filling a simple sign up form. After registration, you can create your personal profile by providing information that best describes you and your work.

What is event following and the difference to favorite events?

When you register for an event, you will automatically follow it and get event-related notifications. You can always unfollow the event or follow it without registration.
When you place the event in your Favorites, it will be shown in a separate short-cut list, but you will not receive event-related notifications, unless you follow the event as well.
Prior to registering, you can also indicate you are interested in an event. Unlike with favorite events, which are private, when you indicate you are interested in an event, your followers will get a notification and your name will be displayed on the event page.

What is the connection between Science Events and related platforms?

All these applications share some resources, which is why you only have to register once and can use those credentials to sign in to all the platforms. Also, changing the sign in credentials, for instance your password, will affect how you sign in on all sites.
